Happy Monday everyone!  We were excited to recognize two birthdays in our class this week.  I hope everyone had a super weekend!

Math update  We completed our unit, and final assessment, for 2D Geometry on Friday and will begin our Data Management unit this week. The homework for this week will be a review of telling time. Although this is not part of our Data Management unit, it serves as a great review until we get into Data Management further.

Language update  We are finishing up our final piece for descriptive writing.  The students have been enjoying describing their favourite item. We also spent some time on reading comprehension with a CASI task this past week.

Welcome to Mrs. Cooper's Grade 4 Math and Language Blog

I am very happy to be teaching your children and to be part of the wonderful St. Gregory community! It was super to meet several of you on interview night. Many of the grade 4 students and I are familiar with one another as I have spent time at St. Gregory in the past. 

I have created this blog to keep you informed of what about what we are working on in my math and language class. Upcoming assessment and assignment dates will be posted here. Please check the blog regularly to ensure nothing is missed.

The homework link will be attached in the right hand column each week, on Monday morning and will be due the following Sunday. On-line homework can be submitted on line when completed or completed and returned to school on paper. Some homework may also be sent home in paper format. 

If you have any questions about the blog, or other classroom happenings, please feel free to contact me through a note in your child's agenda or through the front office. I am looking forward to a fun and exciting year of learning and exploring.

Language: We have currently been working on descriptive writing and visualization. The students described a classmate's Halloween costume and others in the class guessed who it was based on the description. They are now working on their favourite item or food, etc. and we will all soon be guessing from this writing piece.

Math: We are finishing our 2-D geometry unit and will have an assessment on Friday. Math books and practice homework will be coming home to ensure everyone is prepared.
